Andrew Britton was born in Peterborough, England, in 1981. He spent his formative years in the UK and Camlough, County Armagh Ireland, a small village which is home to most of the family on his mother's side. In 1988, his family immigrated to the United States, taking up residence in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Just before his junior year of high school, Britton moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he currently resides.

Britton graduated from Leesville Road High School in 1999 and immediately joined the U.S. Army. He served as a combat engineer for three years. During that time, he was assigned to the 1st Engineer Battalion at Fort Riley, Kansas. In the summer of 2001, he received orders for Korea, where he served with the 2ID, the famed 2nd Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged as a specialist in 2002.

Less than two months after separating from the armed forces, Britton began taking classes at Wake Technical Community College, transferring to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the fall of 2004. As an undergraduate at UNC, Britton studied economics and psychology. His education has been on hiatus for the past year, though he intends to return to school as soon as his schedule allows.

Apart from writing, Britton enjoys reading, traveling, and the occasional beer at the local bar.

I have not read these yet but fully intend to as my husband really enjoyed them. Imagine our dismay to discover that Andrew had died at a very young age. Such a shame he had such talent.

Ryan Kealey returns in the second book of the series, still trying to come to terms with the loss of his partner at the hands of serial assassin Vanderveen. After running amok in the Middle East, almost with a death wish, Kealey returns to the Us to discover that Vanderveen has reappeared, and with serious plans to disrupt American influence in Iraq. Fast paced, quite complex thriller that boils down to one issue. Can Vanderveen be stopped before he carries through his plan?

Would have been a good book if the hero didn't seem like a poor carbon copy of Mitch Rapp (Vince Flynn character). Would probably been better with tighter editing.

Loved it… great characters, great story. Follow-up novel to the author’s previous work. Glad to see an appropriate ending! Highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Action packed gripper
Reviewed in the United States on 1 October 2014
Although the story bounces around a bit in the plot & in what the opposing goodies & baddies are doing at various times it's not all that hard to follow & is certainly action packed. The plethora of Muslim names of many characters make one need to concentrate a bit harder & the occasional 'red herring' gets tossed to keep you guessing but the story progresses to a reasonable & exciting conclusion that sensibly leads in to the sequel (The Invisible).
I kept wanting to go back & read where I'd left off so in my mind, that makes it a good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book was an excellent read.

I especially like the character Ryan Kealey and Naomi's character is almost as good. The author has a way of weaving a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The thought that a terrorist was able to smuggle a bomb into NYC is very hard to grasp. I was glad the Ryan & Naomi were able to track down Vanderman before it was too late.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes spy thrillers.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good book that sometimes dragged.
Reviewed in the United States on 5 December 2015
I would give the book three and a half stars. It's been a while since I finished the book but this is what I recall. There was good action and an enjoyable hero in Ryan Kealey (why are the heroes so often Irish, e.g. Jack Ryan??), but sometimes the narrative seemed to drag... too much detail. Introspection is good but get through it. It's a tragedy the author (and then his brother) died so young. What an amazing talent to be able to accomplish so much write so coherently at such a young age.
