Saved (Book #1 of the Shadow Vampires) Kindle Edition
--Morgan Rice, #1 Bestselling author of THE VAMPIRE JOURNALS
In SAVED (Book #1 of the Shadow Vampires), Keira and Amanda, twins, move with their family to a new town, and start their senior year at a new high school. But though they are twins, the girls have different fates. Amanda, beautiful, popular, is sought out by everyone. Keira, who has always lived in Amanda’s shadow, is smaller, awkward, different. Even her mother, who is so close to Amanda, doesn’t know what to make of her other daughter. Keira turns to books, and to her journal, for solace, and to find out about other worlds.
Amanda makes friends easily at the new school, and quickly finds a boyfriend, while Keira is left alone, an outsider. But very quickly, it is clear that something strange is going on in Everstock. The town and the school are very divided. The popular, rich kids act as if they own the school and have nothing to do with the other kids, who are poorer and live in a different part of town. Not only are the kids meaner here, but an unknown infection has gripped the town, with more and more people going to the hospital. Something here is terribly wrong.
But things change suddenly, as there is a terrible accident involving the twins. Not only are Keira and Amanda’s lives changed forever, but a new dimension of life begins to open to Keira.
As Keira recovers, she begins to change in ways she can’t expect, receiving new and mysterious powers that no one can possibly understand. At the same time, a gorgeous, mysterious new boy, Cooper, appears at the school, who grips her imagination, and who refuses to tell her what secret he is hiding.
As Keira and Cooper grow closer to each other, it soon becomes apparent that destiny has brought them together—and that they may each have to sacrifice it all if they want to stay together…

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 February 2016O.k. to some this may just be another vampire book for teens but for some reason I just couldn't help loving this one a bit more than some of the rest. A real golden child scenario but from the other's perspective I'm a bit older than some of the reviewers who say this can't and wouldn't happen but I've seen it in real life, thankfully without the vampires however. The book itself wouldn't have worked without the family dynamics (nor would the series but that's a review for a different day).
Discussing with a friend we agreed Mean Girls with Vampires. Again neither of us are in the age demographic this book was pitched at but it was strangely compelling, it was also a freebie. The follow up was a must.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 April 2012What to say?... well the story was OK I thought. I did get into the book enough to want to finish it and now read the next book in the series. The stories behind some of the main characters were well thought about and in places tugged a tear!
However the story was very disjointed jumping in places, which was confusing. Also the worst bit (and is my reason for low star rating) was all the stupid mistakes / typing errors... way to many for my liking!!! If you skim read you may not notice them! It's a real shame that this book has not been edited very well as it means it lets the story as a whole down. Whoever proof read / edited this seriously needs to find a new job!
I would say if you can forget all the mistakes catch on quick when the story jumps and you like vampire teen reads then give this a go... you might like it enough to want to read the next book. I know I do (fingers crossed it's not full of silly errors like Saved).
As it doesn't cost much def worth a read me thinks...
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 November 2013This is a very good idea for a book but it doesn't quite work for me. I am not a writer but I am a reader. It felt very rushed and mostly unbelievable. I wanted to believe but it felt very fake and child like. I like to get to know characters and I love the star crossed lovers story but one minute he was this strange mysterious guy the next paragraph they were madly in love and couldn't live without each other. One minute they are surrounded by monsters, how scared they are then she just knows how to use these powers she supposedly has. To far fetched even for a vampire book.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 January 2013This is the first book I got for my kindle and it was fantastic. It got my attention all the way though the book, beginning to end, non stop. The characters, to me, were well described and written, and my complete attention was on the accident that happened and what caused the power the character had. If your the one for different vampire sort of book, then this is the book for you!! :)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 May 2014Good book and really keeps you on the edge until the end. Although not my favourite book, would definitely reccomend to my friends!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 December 2012well i got this when i was on a bit of a 'i love vampires!!' thing this summer and i finally got around to reading this and i wish i hadnt.
the characters are unrealistic and ridiculous, the protagonists relationship with her parents is wrong and wouldnt happen... a lot of what happens in this book feels like the author has thought 'hmm now what can i write to make people feel sorry for this whiny ungrateful idiot whom i have chosen to be my main lady?'....
the protagonist... keira is horrific. shes a horrible person and shes thick, it kinda makes you wonder if the author is too, especially at moments when she attempts to sound intelligent and falls flat on her face.
there are so many typing errors it makes you want to scream and the grammar is poor and so are the plot lines and characters.
i WOULD NOT reccommend this book, no matter how much you hate yourself. this is just a wannabe vampire romance book that is trying so hard not to sound like twilight it has become a poorer version :/
sorry Allegra but i wouldnt count on your talent in writing to pay the bills :L

4.0 out of 5 stars Vampire mal etwas anders

5.0 out of 5 stars Book
This book was amazing, I loved the details. The excitement of the book was great, the love the pain the hate everything made this book amazing. I wish I could have the second, but I'm only thirteen and have no money. But this was one of the best books I have ever read. I want to become a writer when I grow up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good
If you could do a half in a rating, this book would be a 3.5. It was actually pretty good despite the negative reviews. Yes I will admit there were a few grammatical errors and a free punctuation issues, it was something a person can overlook.
This book was set up to make you want the next book. The author Allegra Skye had to develop a special plot for that. Some say it was a straight line than it did a sudden plummet, others say it was the same throughout the whole book. I say it was a brilliant idea to introduce the main conflict of the series towards the end.
This author also has a different idea of vampires. She doesn't use the obvious choices, she instead has a pretty creative idea.
I recommend the book. If you don't think so, fine by me. You should at least give somethings a chance, and this book with a little better editing is perfect for that chance

2.0 out of 5 stars Confusing as it is, but had potential
This book has the potential to be great, but as it is now there are a lot of issues.
It almost seems as if the writer was in a pinch to get it out and didn't take the time to actually develop a plot, just kind of threw everything out there. It also has to many conflicting sentences, for example how can one paragraph says she had already showered and her hair was left over her shoulders, then in the next one say shes getting in the shower. Another example is when they say that Keira is wearing a dress and at the same time she is wearing pants and a sweater. Or when could she fall asleep fully clothed and then in the next paragraph got up and pulled on her clothes. On top of those issues there are a lot of grammatical errors, wrong names, bad punctuation, and over all horrible spacing and simple editing errors. The shear number of these errors started to distract from the story line and I found my self actually wondering what else I was going to find that was wrong. Its a shame that the Author and the publisher let this book be published the way it is, it really had the potential to be great if it was worked with more.
Overall, I would not waste my time with this book again, and I regret not reading the reviews before clicking send to kindle.
