I'm Dan Eitreim and I worked as a professional photographer running my own photo studio for over 20 years. I've never apprenticed or worked for any other photographers. Because of this, I've had to learn and develop my photography skills on my own.

My first attempts were dismal, to say the least... so I studied, practiced and developed my photo skills and along the way I not only learned how to put the "wow" into my photos, but I've also learned how to teach others to do the same!

To that end, I've compiled a 42 volume series of photo training lessons that I've titled: "On Target Photo Training".

I've now started writing novels and have completed my first one: "The Photographer's Apprentice". I'm now at work on my second novel: "The Fortune Teller" and hope to have it finished soon.

I enjoy creating books and expect to be developing more!

In this book, the Author has brought together many of his daily PhotoTip items in one concise volume. It is a gold mine of information for the portrait photographer, professional and amateur alike, and an aide-memoir to getting great results. It is well written with plenty of example photographs, and easy to understand, especially by the not so technically minded amongst us. There are many improvisation tips included for those whose budget does not extend to the purchasing of expensive equipment.
Great for taking on any assignment as it is always to hand on your Kindle or other mobile device. Students, hobbiests and professionals will appreciate this considering all the other equipment that has to be carried on a shoot!
Where else can you pick up this volume of information for such a low price? I would thoroughly recommend buying this book and the other books by this Author to build a comprehensive library of photography information and know-how that is always with you and will not break the bank!

This eBook is OK but only just. It certainly isn't worth any more money. The tips are a mix of good and a rehash of stuff that comes out once a year in Amateur Photographer and every other magazine.

If you are into portraits this is a must read. Very well written and informative. Only a small criticism but would like larger photos to demonstate lighting effects better.

To take photographs is not easy for a landscape man so I am enjoying the "instructions" suggested in this book and are putting them into practice with some success. Very enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!! Surprisingly informative for a free book.
Reviewed in the United States on 19 September 2018
Wow!! Wasn't expecting this book to be so informative. I have mainly been a natural light shooter and have been struggling with consistent flash use and placement. First I checked the authors Instagram to see his work so that I could determine if it was worth my time reading. Unfortunately he has an Instagram but no photos posted. The book was free so I just downloaded it and instantly started learning many things I was not aware of. The book is really clear and to the point and I now know how and why I will be setting up my lights based on the effect I want and features of the subject. I am aware of broad and short lighting but understanding the reason to use each will serve me well. This free book taught me more than several other high priced lighting books and research over the last few years. I can't vouch for the authors own photography because I can't find it but his knowledge is great. I also have to say that the photo examples of the different setups were very helpful. I will definitely be buying more of his work. Many thanks to the author.

Zusammengefasst: Tolles Buch!

I just received this book today so have not had time to read it yet but based on the other books from this author I am sure it will be excellent. I have 4 or 5 `books by Dan Eitreim now and I like every one of them. They contain a lot of useful information but they are written in a way that is so easy to understand. I am very happy with all my books from Dan Eitreim.
