This is a well crafted sincere free kindle book given with the motivation to help others. I hold no religious views but the Christian references seemed to me like part of the story and not a plot to convert me despite the fact the being part autobiographical you get to like trust and respect the author. The author writes supportively towards people whose life may not be going too well. This book offers the perspective of time. At any age it is possible to be broken hearted,or to fail or mess up. Time shows you that love and success hide in sneaky places that need faith, persistence and experience to reveal. A job well done Mr Herrick for which I am confident you already have your reward.

A well-written book where the author sensitively shares some of wonderfully encouraging personal stories. I really engaged with the book, and I liked the way it broke down the 8 points. It is a book of meditation and reflection that you don't have to finish in one go, even though it's a short book. You can delve in and out, and get some breathing space to take in the thoughts expressed.

I am encouraged by the words in this book, and it brought out more evidence of the great love that God has for us. We are secure in His love and there are many reasons to appreciate and value His love for us. The author list 8 of the most important reasons, and for this I am grateful.

I have just mentally consumed the powerful words in the book, within two nights. I have so much to say to the author - that's for sure!

Right now, I am depressed and cold in life. I am just 20 years old, and am an aspiring writer. My dealing in life has not been good so far. This book has provided personalised words, that have uplifted my soul, and allowed me to "press forward" on the more shadier part on life's path.

Author: if you happen to read this review, I would very much enjoy an e-mail from you! Aaron.t.rowles@gmail.com

God is the antidote for every cut I have received on this battlefield. If I go now, I will be a permanent hole in somebody's progression. This book is pain-absorbing, gold.

I suspect my choice to give this book only 3* is down to culture and that American readers will find it more uplifting than someone like me – English. Having said that, John Herrick has a friendly writing style and as such becomes a friend to the reader of this book. I suspect also, that in feeling unsure of the value of my life, I was looking for magic. That is not in it. What is, is good, solid Biblical reference to why any individual’s life does matter.

I found this book while browsing christian books. Decided to order because I was in such a bad place in my life and it was free.
The book has changed my whole thinking process and literally saved my life. I was on a downward spiral, and it was not drugs or alcohol but old age and a great lack of finances, the future looked very bleak.
It was a gift from my Lord to save me from doing something stupid.
I have already thanked the author, and had a reply!
I can freely recommend the book its a masterpiece and I am one grateful ol' lady!
    thanks again to the author!

This should be in the religious section.

Hated it from the first chapter for all the fictional claims about a celestial dictator being responsible for everything that science can tell us the truth for.

Took me 2 days to complete the book a very easy read. Many different scenarios to read through to help understand each reason, what I did like were some of the simplest quotes written by herrick that you yourself can apply in your life. It was lovely to read someone else's perspective on how to take life knowing that your not alone or the only one going through a struggle, most importantly take away the negativity whether it be thoughts or someone else speaking. Be bold and whenever in doubt review what you have pulled through so far cause somehow you still managed to push yourself that include why you matter as a person.

This was an easy, inspiring and challenging read at the same time. The 8 reasons where very good and I enjoying the way the author tied in his own story with the biblical narrative to make it personal to the reader. Over the last week I have been sharing a few quotes a day with my friends to encourage and remind them that they matter.

5.0 out of 5 stars As one who has struggled in this area, I found it reassuring
Reviewed in the United States on 10 January 2017
John Herrick has an easy-to-read style. Although you know he is addressing the deep hurts people feel and some of his readers may be contemplating suicide, he maintains a respectful and matter-of-fact tone rather than pleading. He offers eight truths from the Bible but his text is far from preachy. He develops each idea with personal experiences and concludes with a person in the Bible who felt that way and he demonstrates what God was doing in that situation that can only be seen in hindsight.

This is a well-written eBook for people struggling with depression, self-worth, and even suicidal thoughts. It emphasizes a long-term perspective and gives reasons to tough-it-out rather than give up on life. As the author says, “Every dark season in life comes to an end. If you hang in there long enough, you’ll reach the dawn.”

As one who has struggled in this area, I found it reassuring and I might have to make myself a reminder sheet listing the eight reasons. For me, the best (most relevant) reason to keep persevering is: “Somebody out there needs to see you overcome.”

8 Reasons Your Life Matters is worth a read, especially if you want some encouraging thoughts to lift you out of despair or to arm yourself with points to be able to help others.
