PICTURES OF YOU: a gripping psychological suspense thriller Kindle Edition

3.6 out of 5 stars 560 ratings

A tense, edge-of-your-seat psychological drama you won't want to put down

Since losing her husband, receptionist Mary has lived a quiet and rather dull life. When she begins to be seen with a handsome, considerably younger man, it raises the eyebrows of her friends and family.

But do they really know what is going on? Is Mary in love or confused, or worse, being taken advantage of? That is perhaps for her to choose. But when she does, it will have to be decisive.

PICTURES OF YOU is an edgy psychological suspense by best-selling British crime fiction author Diane Dickson.

Look out for her other titles on amazon, which include the new Liverpool-based DI Jordan Carr series, plus the popular DI Tanya Miller murder investigations series (Broken Angel is book 1), and the bestselling titles LEAVING GEORGE and DEPTHS OF DECEPTION.

All Diane's books are FREE with Kindle Unlimited and available in paperback.

Reader feedback: "One hell of a creepy stalker novel. A real page-turner." Betsy Raven
"The tension built up to breaking point. I could not put this thriller down." Geoff Stewart

Diane M Dickson was born in Yorkshire but grew up mostly in the Liverpool of the Beatles and Ferries Across the Mersey.

She is married with two children - one of each brand and two grandsons.

After almost twenty years living and working in various countries in the Middle East, Diane now lives in the middle of a forest in South West France.

Diane's love of books and reading is owed in most part to her dad who was a voracious reader and took her to the library every week from a very early age.

Diane writes mostly crime novels and police procedurals which have been published by The Book Folks for the past several years. She enjoys reading the same genre with occasional forays into family sagas and such like.

This is a compelling read, a real page turner! The author tackles the intense emotional issues that age gap relationships can create with great skill. Mary is a middle aged widow, living an orderly, uneventful life who literally falls for a twenty year old college student. Though fraught with many personal insecurities, she ultimately surrenders to her desire and excitement and embarks on a fateful love affair. A riveting psychological thriller that I could not put down.

Mary's life is turned upside down when she encounters Jacob. He is much younger, handsome, gentle. Mary finds herself increasingly drawn to him.

This is a satisfyingly creepy story with a lot of emotional depth. Mary struggles with her feelings, her friend's reaction and then terror as everything plunges into chaos.

I got 40% through the book and couldn't take any more, normally that far in I would finish it whatever. The main character is dull
and nothing has happened yet other than she has fallen out with her friend. Glad I didn't pay for it. I have loads of books to read so
will be ditching this and moving on - sorry.

Really enjoyed this as I have all of this author's books. This is an emotional read which accurately describes how easy it is to become a victim.

Mary has lived in her own little cocoon since her husband died. Work, an occasional meal out with a friend and her home. That is until she sets her eyes on 21 year old Jacob.
I found this a very sad book to be honest and it raised a lot of moral questions with me. The author Diane Dickson has written a very deep psychological thriller that has many layers like an onion. A topsy-turvy story where the hunter becomes the hunted to become the hunter again. Every choice we make has consequences for other people, some are devastating. For me í don't really know who the most twisted person was.

I have read a few of the stand alone books and find everyone disappointing, unbelievable and this particular one insulting to all the woman and men to who have or are suffering domestic abuse think Diane needs to do some research before wrinting about topics she clearly doesn't understand .I had no empathy for the lead character and the ending ,yes I got to the end ,is ridiculous. My advice if your buying this don't bother .

I read this book in one afternoon. Could not put it down until the ultimate, riveting final chapter.
Characters well described and believable - a woman, still young and widowed, finds excitement and a new zest for life with a handsome and engaging much younger man. But things are not as they appear and poor Mary is only beginning to find out.
I don't want to spoil the story for others but I will say that there's an important theme to this story and lessons to be learned by every woman.
Good work! A few errors here and there; punctuation, spelling, continuity but otherwise wonderfully written. Love Brit authors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read! Twists, and surprises!

I give this book 4 stars mainly because there was a real strange twist at the end that just didn't exactly sit with me. Just seemed "out of character" to me. but otherwise a totally enjoyable read that held my interest. Though some readers may not like the the female leads actions at the beginning,it is the beginning of a great read. I would recommend this this book.
