The "slightly" higher intensity training (SH*T) is an enticing running program. What it proposes is easy to follow and certainly manageable, an honest program for runners of all kinds.

Coe writes with experience, yet his expert knowledge is conveyed with authenticity. He also writes with plenty of humour, as is the case when it came to naming the running program. This combination of knowledge and wit makes Run a very enjoyable, short read.

I shall be starting my program today, andlook forward to reaping the rewards of SH*T.

As a busy, middle-aged new runner, I have enjoyed reading this book and I'm looking forward to giving the method a go. The straightforward, self-deprecating style of writing makes this short book an easy read. Andrew gets quickly to the nitty-gritty of the programme itself which makes a refreshing change from the reams of background information in many such books that put me off before I've even got to the exercise regime outline. The plan sounds simple too with no need for expensive equipment or complex calculations.

Andrew Coe's book is great because it is short. It takes very little time to read so that leaves more time to try out his training tips. Although his tongue seems to be firmly in his cheek nevertheless his belief in helping you to achieve the aim stated in the title shines through. I have let my own running slip somewhat recently but I am looking forward to using this book to get me back on form.

As a long term runner I was looking for a book I could recommend to my less than fit friends. This book is perfect. It sets out a realistic regime to improve whilst the humour is firmly aimed at my less than clever peers. I would thoroughly recommend this book to all those who aspire to improve their running and want a bit of a laugh.
